    Gift Card Wallet Tutorial

If there’s one thing I love about crafters it’s their willingness to share their knowledge with each other. The number of excellent tutorials online is staggering and it seems, no matter what you’re looking to make, there’s something out there to help and inspire you.

Gift Card Wallet by Girl Industries

I’ve yet to post any of my own tutorials here but one lady who has recently taken the leap is fellow Glasgow crafter, Girl Industries, who has posted this great little quick make the other day.

May it be the first of many! :)

    Craft Fair Tips

The wonderful Claire of Miso Funky has posted some tips she has on how crafters can make the most of the craft fairs season, gleaned from years of selling her great items. Check her advice here.

    Shop till you drop

One of my aims for 2008 was to get myself going on the online shop front and, while I’ve still to finish getting some stock together and listed, I have started a store at both Folksy and Etsy.

In a great piece of fortunate timing The Storque at Etsy just recently published a wonderful How To guide to Selling. Great for beginners like me or old hands looking to bump up their sales.

    Boxed in

Free Decorative PapersPresentation is an important part of any gift and can elevate the most mundane of items into something that feels really special. Yet, not all of us have the patience or time to curl yards of ribbon and indulge their inner giftwrap goddess so what to do? Put it in a gift box! There are plenty of great box tutorials and PDFs on the net but to really make them pretty look no further than the great range of free decorative papers available to download from Margit Ammentorp. Perfect!

    Too cool for school

The ever-inspiring Meggiecat gave me an unexpected blast from the past this morning with her link to a site on decorative shoe-lacing. I swear I used to think I was super cool with my fat laces tied in a checkerboard lacing. When teamed with dungarees/overalls I was positively chic! (no I will not tell you how recently this was!)  :)

I’m not cut out for this (*groan* – ok, it’s late, it was easy)

Paper cutout tutorial skinny laminxWhile I can never see me quite mastering the art of paper cutting to the point where I’d be able to give Rob Ryan a run for his money, I do think I would like to give it a go some time soon. Our walls are bare and patiently waiting for The Great Print/Painting Hangfest I keep putting off and I think that I’d like to have a small cut-out attempt ready to put in the hall with our other pieces. Heather at Skinny laMinx kindly put up this wonderful tutorial a few months back so really I have no excuse other than the need for some inspiration subject matter! (all suggestions welcome)
